When designing our office space it was important the space communicated who we are, why we do what we do, and supported our strong culture as we work everyday. This created several areas through the office where we could feature the different facets of what makes us special. From a conference room that has words that are important to our work to images and hand written notes from residents telling what their new homes mean to them - our office is a living and breathing representation of who we are. We have a strong culture that starts with the people that make us great and when we let loose and celebrate our successes, we do that in our lounge space that focuses on our team.
For BDCL Architects as a company, it starts with WHY. That is why the first thing you see when you visit the team at our office, you are presented with the wall that explains what housing is to us. We know the design of housing takes teamwork & relationships and can help to improve the lives of residents while transforming neighborhoods. The superior housing we design empowers people and enhances communities and we are reminded of that every day through the ongoing successes of the residents.
Residents are at the heart of our work and what better way to have a constant reminder than to see pictures of what it means to them. Our art gallery is filled with the drawings from young residents in some of the developments we design and they each tell the story of their home. We are so fortunate to design homes that impact family’s lives everyday and these images help to invigorate us.
Our map wall is a constant reminder of the places we have been and the communities we have yet to serve. Every unfinished state is an opportunity to create more housing for the residents that need our help. As we move beyond the current reach of our existing projects the new states become stained to match. Some feature developments show the variety and capabilities of the team.
